The high winds of hurricanes develop uplift, which can rip the roof sheathing,
and even the roof, off of a building. If the building envelope is breached,
internal pressures can double, and exceed sheathing uplift resistance. Category
IV and V hurricanes may develop enough uplift to remove roof sheathing without
window or door failure.

Foamseal Hurricane Adhesive increases uplift resistance from 2 to 4 times the
strength of nails alone. Nails alone are sufficient to resist high winds and
uplift in the lower category hurricanes (I, II and III).
